“Science without religion is lame . . . religion without science is blind.”
                          Albert Einstein

Who are we?
Where do we come from?
What happens when we die?
What is the meaning of life?
Religions have attempted to answer these questions since the beginning of humanity through “holy writings” inspired by "God" but ALL of them written by "man".

The most popular religions of today were written hundreds if not thousands of years ago. However, during modern times many followers of these religions have struggled with contradictions between the interpretations of these ancient writings and discoveries in science and ever evolving social norms.

We believe that it is time for a modern doctrine, a Religion 2.0,  that embraces the evolution of technology and helps us to integrate the inevitable changes that these advances are making in our personal lives and societies in a positive and productive manner. The Sun doesn't revolve around the Earth, slavery isn't an accepted social practice and evolution is no less a theory than gravity.

To become a part of the Church of the Singularity you do not have to give up the traditions, celebrations, or rituals of your present religion . . . but layer upon that foundation an understanding of the changes that results from our exponentially increasing advancements in science.

These changes will profoundly effect ALL of us in the very near future. Self driving cars in the next 5 years will allow freedom of movement for millions who can share cars instead of own them, freeing up millions of hours for caregivers and parents who have to provide transportation for their kids, the elderly and physically challenged. However, they will also eventually eliminate thousands of jobs for taxi, bus and limo drivers and long haul truckers.

Advances in artificial intelligence and Big Data will provide solutions to medical cures from Alzheimer's to Cancer to Diabetes and beyond. . . . but it will also displace thousands of health care workers, accountants, clerks, customer service representatives and even doctors and lawyers.

3D printing will allow us to revolutionize and customize manufacturing, print human replacement organs and even food with the exact cellular structures it replaces or even improves upon. . . but the disruption in agriculture, manufacturing, health care and other professions will be enormous.

These changes will alter society as we know it . . . and we need a religion that embraces these changes while offering it's members an organization that can provides a  belief system to help them buffer the disruptions while providing them access to the benefits.

The Church of the Singularity is a religion based on the belief that the fundamental building block of the universe is . . . knowledge. . . and that we are now engaged in an exponentially advancing journey of discovery, which will ultimately lead humanity to become one with the universe . . . to become one with God . . . .to become the Singularity.

We welcome you to share your knowledge and join us in this exploration.
